PLEDGING OF SHARES


The meet started at 7:00 AM with MOC Neha Desai welcomed the YPs and handed over the charge to YP Neha Gupta to start the discussion on “Pledging of Shares”. YP Neha Gupta gave a brief overview by giving the literal definition and then elaborating on towards the legal implications of the same. She emphasized in the necessity of disclosures by the Promoter and Promoter group when resorting to Pledging. YP Priyanka Sureka gave insights on the Sebi Disclosures norms on pledging and the significance of Clause 35 and Clause 41. The juxtaposition of Contract Act viz a viz Depositories Act was also well taken by the house.
The Presentation was followed by a Q & A session.

MOC Neha Desai enthusiastically introduced to the house guest Speaker of the day Hitesh Jain who is a Qualified CS, Final Year MBA Graduate from FMS, Delhi University.

Hitesh shared his award-winning presentation on the Equity research analysis of Ultra Tech Cement and gave his insights on the rationale of Equity research in current economic crisis.
An extempore session was organized as follows:


A group discussion was organised by dividing the attendees into 2 groups.

Group 1 – “As employers of an IT Major, talk to your employees post Satyam scam”

Group 2 – “We want Potato Chips not computer Chips”


Each group discussion was followed by a feedback session by Hitesh Jain and Rohit Biyani.
